CentOS themselves DO NOT recommend upgrading anything below 6 to 6.0+
Their official release notes state:

Upgrading from CentOS-4 or CentOS-5:
We recommend everyone run through a reinstall rather than attempt an
inplace upgrade from CentOS-4 or CentOS-5.

Is it possible to either have LFD restart services which have been updated (which leave the old deleted processes running), or for LFD to call a customisable script with the details of the deleted process.
